2025 FORD Bronco
The new Bronco is a popular platform, and for good reason. Great powertrain, good looks, awesome utility — what’s not to like? Well, the audio system. Regardless of whether you option the base audio or the Bang & Olufsen, the sound is underwhelming.
This 2025 Heritage came with no upgrade option, so they were only able to get the base system. This thing has next to nothing for power and the speaker quality is akin to what we’d expect to see in a cargo van. The single 8″ subwoofer in the back panel is barely enough to make the bass response tolerable and in no way provides an engaging experience. We knew we had to go for a complete overhaul to get the right sound.Â
Last year Morel announced their Bronco-specific system upgrades, and we’ve installed them into the B&O version of these rigs with good success. We couldn’t use the amplifier they usually package with the upgrade, but we were able to get the replacement dash speakers, kick panel woofers, rear pod speakers and the subwoofer/enclosure setup. We knew these speakers could sound great, we just had to get the right power and processing behind them.Â
The audio outputs from the base stereo Bronco are particularly terrible. They use a floating ground that leads to distortion and low output with most aftermarket amps/DSPs. Luckily, our friends at Audiotec Fischer in Germany already solved this problem years ago with their ADEP technology. They assured us we’d have zero issues with distortion or volume — and they were right!Â
This Bronco sounded so great that it was a struggle for us to stop listening to it ourselves long enough to give it back to the owner. Incredible clarity, wide soundstage and purity in the midrange with a depth & texture to the bass section that was far more than I expected. Overall, a resounding success.Â
The owner of the car even called the shop after a couple hours of driving to tell us how much they enjoyed it and how they’re “falling in love with their favorite music all over again.”Â
